Abergele & Pensarn Tourist Information

Abergele is a small, slightly inland market town found on the North coast, it is nestled between the popular seaside resorts of Colwyn Bay and Rhyl.

Pensarn lies on the coast and is a suburb of Abergele, it makes up the coastal arm for the two areas. Pensarn has a long beach (Pensarn Beach), although mostly made up of shingle it does have sandy areas with more sand revealed at low tide, There is a long promenade that runs alongside the beach that is perfect for a leisurely daytime or evening stroll.

Abergele is set against the backdrop of wooded hillsides and is home to Abergele Golf Club, this is an 18-hole parkland golf course that offers golfers the opportunity to play a round of golf on smooth, dry greens all year round.

Looking dominantly over Abergele and the Irish Sea is Gwrych Castle, this Grade 1 listed 19th-Century building was known to have twenty-eight bedrooms, it remains a very imposing castle and can be viewed several times a year via private tours around the site and gardens.

Both Pensarn and Abergele have well-connected transport links thanks to its railway station and the A55 (North Wales Expressway), the ability to jump on the A55 makes Pensarn and Abergele an ideal base from which to explore North Wales.
