Beddgelert Tourist Information
A picture postcard village in an enviable location

Beddgelert is a small but delightful stone-built village located at the wooded foothills of Mount Snowdon, nestled inside Snowdonia National Park.

You will find a good range of amenities in Beddgelert including shops selling arts and crafts, a village shop, Post Office, as well as great restaurants and welcoming pubs.

Beddgelert is perfect for outdoor enthusiasts
This beautiful village is not only blessed with stunning surroundings, but its location within Snowdonia National Park means there are plenty of activities available. The village lies at the confluence of the Rivers Colwyn and Glaslyn, with the latter river more popular for fishing for sea trout, mullet and brown trout, it is also well suited for white water kayaking with its splendid class II whitewater run.

The landscape around the village lends itself perfectly to walking, this includes leisurely riverside strolls along either of the two rivers which meet in the village. If you're a seasoned hill walker looking to give the outsole of your boots a challenging workout, the many mountain peaks in the Snowdonia Range will certainly do the job.

The 'Beddgelert Forest' offers a number of excellent walking trails, it is also particularly well suited for those who enjoy mountain biking.

The village is one of a number of stopping-off points for the Welsh Highland Railway, as it travels from Caernarfon in the North to Porthmadog in the South.

About a mile from the centre of the village is Sygun Copper Mine, it's a fascinating attraction where visitors can take a self-guided tour through winding underground tunnels and large colourful chambers to discover what life was like for a Victorian miner back in the day.
