Builth Wells Tourist Information
Home to the prestigious Royal Welsh Show

Builth Wells is an ancient inland market town which lies at the confluence of the River Wye and the River Irfon, it is situated just under an eight-mile drive South of Llandrindod Wells and roughly a seventeen-mile drive North of Brecon.

Builth Wells boasts a truly unique shopping experience. Here visiting tourists will not find a town packed to the rafters with major retailers and enormous shopping malls, instead, shoppers can enjoy browsing around a variety of independent shops that provide everything a visitor may be looking for. Hungry shoppers will find plenty of eating establishments to choose from whether it's a sit-down meal in a cafe, pub or restaurant or just a quick snack on the go.

Builth Wells is set amidst beautiful, unspoilt countryside that's well suited for a whole host of outdoor pursuits. The rivers Wye and Irfon which come together in the town offers anglers some excellent fishing for chub, dace, grayling, salmon, trout and the odd roach. Walkers and cyclists will find plenty of trails which crisscross the landscape taking in short circular and long distance routes, there is also the opportunity to enjoy pony trekking in the area.

A short drive from the town is Builth Wells Golf Club, a well manicured and beautiful, yet challenging 18-hole parkland course.

Home to the biggest agricultural show in Europe
Every July visitor numbers in the town swell dramatically as it plays host to the 'Royal Welsh Show', this prestigious event is spread over four days and is designed to showcase the vast array of quality food, drink and livestock produced in Wales. The show is also used as a way to bring farming and rural life to the masses, combined with a packed program of exciting entertainment and events for the whole family to enjoy.
