Llanbedr Tourist Information
Llanbedr is a beautiful village nestled within Snowdonia National Park, the town of Harlech lies three miles to the North and the popular seaside town of Barmouth is just over seven miles away to the South.

If you're planning a visit or holiday in Llanbedr you will find a few shops dotted around and two pubs that both serve food.

Roughly a mile and a half from the village are Llanfair Slate Caverns, here you're able to head off on a self-guided tour down into the mines, mighty caverns and caves to discover what life was like for miners and tunnellers back in the day. If you're a family with young children you should also visit the Children's Farm Park which is set on the same site as the slate caverns and at an additional charge, the farm is home to all kinds of cutsie farm animals housed inside farm buildings (great for when the weather turns sour), the farm park also has junior tractors, an indoor sand pit, air cannons, crazy golf and a nature trail.

The lush green countryside which surrounds Llanbedr offers many picturesque walks, in addition to riverside strolls along the River Artro which meanders its way through the village, the river also provides anglers with an opportunity to fish for brown trout, sewin (sea trout) and salmon.

Llanbedr is ideally situated if you fancy spending the day on a beach, this stretch of coastline has some wonderful sandy beaches including the vast two-mile stretch of sandiness at Harlech Beach. Shell Island is just a couple of miles outside Llanbedr right on the coast, not only is it a popular camping site but it's harbour and causeway are ideal crabbing locations. Shell Island is also blessed with three wonderful bathing beaches, there is, however, a day visit entrance fee if you're not camping on-site (chargeable by car).
