Llanfair Caereinion Tourist Information
Llanfair Caereinion is a small market town which lies on the banks of the River Banwy, about eight and a half miles drive from Welshpool and just over eleven miles drive from Newtown.

Llanfair has a number of independent shops to amble around, as well as a few eating establishments and pubs.

The River Banwy which meanders its way past the top of the town offers lovely riverside walks, it also provides anglers with some good fishing for brown trout, grayling and chub.

The town is renowned for being the terminus for the Welshpool & Llanfair Light Railway, a narrow gauge railway that takes passengers on a wonderful unhurried 45-minute steam train journey through the picturesque countryside, as it travels between the town's of Llanfair Caereinion and Welshpool.
