Morfa Bychan is a pretty village which lies on the Llŷn Peninsula, it's only about a five-minute drive to up the road to Porthmadog and just over a ten-minute drive to Criccieth.


The village has a convenience store and a post office within, a chip shop, and a pub that serves food. There are a number of caravan parks in and around the village including Greenacres Holiday Park.

Morfa Bychan is home to Porthmadog Golf Club, an 18-hole parkland and links course that comes complete with stunning views of the Cardigan Bay coastline and Snowdonia.

The real draw for visitors to the village is its famous beach, Black Rock Sands Beach (aka - Morfa Bychan Beach), it's a very popular destination for families and for those who enjoy skimming the water on a jet ski. Beachgoers will find there is plenty of room on its extensive stretch of wide open, fine sand. You also have the added bonus of being able to drive your car directly onto the beach, perfect if someone you know has packed everything including the kitchen sink.

The 870-mile long Wales Coastal Path passes Morfa Bychan as it makes its way around this beautiful stretch of Cardigan Bay, walkers can choose to head off in either direction from the village and walk as far as they wish whilst enjoying the picturesque coastal views along the way. For walkers who are looking for something more challenging and with a bit of a bite to it should head off to nearby Snowdonia National Park, it offers a network of walking routes that can cater for all requirements.
