Old Colwyn Tourist Information
Old Colwyn is a coastal village which lies next to neighbouring Colwyn Bay, just under seven miles to the West is Conwy - a renowned world heritage site with an impressive thirteenth-century castle and walls.

Old Colwyn offers a number of shops to purchase food and everyday essentials, there are also a number of excellent traditional pubs in the area serving food and well-kept real ales.

Being a coastal village means Old Colwyn is fortunate enough to have a beach, where at low tide the Irish Sea reveals a fantastic long stretch of golden sand, this is just perfect for endless hours of free family beach fun and games. The beach at Old Colwyn is also a big hit for dog lovers as it's year-round dog-friendly - woof woof to that!

As with the beach, the promenade connects to neighbouring Colwyn Bay, making it ideal for a nice long daytime or evening stroll or bike ride. Along its length, the prom also provides a good place for spotting wildlife including seabirds and wading birds and if you're lucky you may also spy the odd seal and dolphin.

In the heart of Old Colwyn is Fairy Glen, a picturesque cool and moist woodland set in a sheltered valley. A tranquil place, Fairy Glen is now a Local Nature Reserve packed with all kinds of wildlife as well as native trees like the Oak and Ash. As you wander through this fairytale woodland admiring the carpet of bluebells and the pretty violets spread across the woodland floor, you will find the air filled with the unmistakable smell of Wild Garlic.

Old Colwyn Golf Club is set towards the back of the village, it's a charming 9-hole meadowland course that has admiring views of the surrounding countryside and out to the Irish sea.
