Penmachno Tourist Information

Penmachno is a small peaceful village which lies in the beautiful Machno Valley, on the Eastern side of Snowdonia National Park. Penmachno is accessed via the B4406 about two miles from the main A5 road, it is also only four miles away from the popular inland village of Betws-y-Coed.

From Penmachno, there are plenty of walking routes throughout the beautiful Machno Valley and in the nearby Gwydyr Forest. One very pleasant three-mile walk from the village goes through the forest to 'Ty Mawr Wybrnant'. Located in a remote yet stunning valley, Ty Mawr Wybrnant is a traditional stone-built upland 16th-century farmhouse owned by the National Trust.

Gwydyr Forest is also extremely popular for mountain biking and home to the 'Penmachno Bike trails', which takes in a number of trails including the 19km Dolen Machno, the 11km Dolen Eryri and the 30km Penmachno Trail.
