Penmon Tourist Information
An area of picture postcard views

Penmon is a small scattered village nestled on the South-eastern tip of Anglesey, from the village it's about a four-mile drive to the town of Beaumaris and around five and a half miles to the village of Llanddona.

This small but beautiful part of Anglesey has an abundance of historical monuments that are certainly worth visiting, as is Penmon Priory, a fascinating site that contains the remains of a priory dating from the thirteenth century when the house became part of the Augustinian order.

The area in and around Penmon provides some outstanding sea views as well as views across to Mount Snowdon and the Great Orme, there are also lovely views across to Puffin Island which is a magnificent uninhabited island and a Special Protection Area (SPA) for wildlife. Visitors are not able to actually go onto Puffin Island, but there are various boat trips which go around the island, enabling visitors to see the breathtaking array of seabirds (and of course the adorable puffins) which inhabit the island.

The beach at Penmon (Penmon Point Beach) is a rural pebble beach which is not really suited for swimming due to strong currents. However, it's a great area for fishing and for rock pool explorations, it also offers excellent views across the Menai Straits.
