Pwllheli is the unofficial capital of the Llŷn Peninsula

Pwllheli is a bustling seaside town resort located on the Southern side of the Llŷn Peninsula, positioned roughly midway between the coastal town of Criccieth and the coastal village of Abersoch. Being located on the Llŷn means Pwllheli along with other settlements benefit from a unique micro climate, that brings with it warmer weather and warmer sea temperatures.

Pwllheli is blessed with two beaches called South Beach and Glan-y-mor Beach, South Beach is made of mostly of shingle and travels the length of the promenade. Whilst Glan-y-mor Beach is located near the marina, offering a sheltered sandy beach that stretches some three miles towards Llanbedrog.

For people who like to combine their holiday with a relaxing round of golf will find Clwb Golff Pwllheli (Pwllheli Golf Club) offers one of the finest golf courses in North Wales. Visiting golfers can enjoy an 18-hole part links, part parkland course, combined with spectacular views across to Cardigan Bay. Two miles to the West of Pwllheli towards Abersoch is Llŷn Golf, a 9-hole 'pay and play' course available for use by people of all ages.
