Wrexham Town Tourist Information

Wrexham is a busy town situated between the Welsh mountains and the lower Dee Valley, the town is located just over eleven miles Northeast of Llangollen town and about six miles Southwest of the village of Rossett.

The principal route into Wrexham is by the A483 road which goes on to join the main A5 and A55 roads, the town has two train stations and plenty of regular bus services.

As the largest town in North Wales, it comes as no surprise that Wrexham has lots of shops offering a myriad of big high street named retailers that every shopaholic craves. On the flip side, there are also idyllic older streets to amble around with plenty of delightful independent shops selling all kinds of products. If the bricks and mortar shops aren't enough, shoppers can also pick up a bargain at one of the towns three markets, in fact, the weekly Monday market happens to be one of the biggest in North Wales.

Wrexham has plenty of pubs to choose from, or if you fancy some food the town boasts all the big high street named fast food outlets, lots of unique cafes and restaurants as well as takeaways, so finding somewhere to eat will never be an issue in Wrexham.

Set in a country park about five miles West of Wrexham is Minera Lead Mines, it provides visitors with a fascinating insight into the working life of the lead miners of Minera, there's also the remains of the 19th-century lead processing works to explore.

To the East of the town lies Wrexham Golf Club, it is considered to be one of the premier golf clubs in Wales, here golfers can enjoy a round on the club's 18-hole parkland course which boasts true greens and well-defined fairways.

On the opposite side of the A534 to Wrexham Golf Club is Clays Golf Centre, it offers a challenging 18-hole parkland course set in 100 acres of beautiful Welsh countryside.
