Monkstone Beach in Pembrokeshire

This beach has an air of being very wild and remote, as it lies midway between Saundersfoot and Tenby.

The beach cannot be accessed by a vehicle, this combined with foot access via a steep path (albeit well maintained), means it can be quite common to have the beach entirely to yourself.

But it is certainly a beach not to be missed. Visitors will discover plenty of sand for all those beach games, lots of rockpools worth poking around in, as well as rocks to climb over, or jump off into the water.

It is also a recommended destination amongst bass fishermen.

At certain times of the year, at very low tide, it's possible to walk round the Monkstone head.
