Whitesands Bay Beach in Pembrokeshire

Whitesands offers a lovely wide expanse of fine sand, which looks out to Ramsey Island.

This is considered to be one of the best surfing beaches in Wales, making it an extremely popular destination with the surfing fraternity, who have to compete with body boarders and canoeists for the best waves.

The Southern end of the beach is a lot quieter with a few sheltered bays, and at very low tide it is possible to walk around to Porthsele Beach.

Although there are 60 parking spaces available, they are taken up very quickly during the peak summer season.

Whitesands is a lovely beach. Lots of sand and lifeguarded so I am always glad of an extra set of eyes and hands ready to help when taking the kids to the beach and into the sea. Because it's a nice beach it was busy but there was plenty of parking. It also has a cafe and shop which is handy. There are toilets and they cost 20p which means they are kept clean but it's my only annoyance as you have to have the right change. It looks out onto Ramsey island and is stunning in its surroundings. If you want a family beach, this is a great choice. I would recommend.
