Rhossili Bay Beach in Swansea (Gower)

This is a massive 3-mile arc of lovely sandiness, offering plenty of space for those all important beach games, and the golden sands are ideal for sandcastle building competitions.

Rhossili Bay is wide open, offering ideal surfing conditions, and suitable for a number of other water based sports.

Located at the Southern end of the bay is a small tidal island called Worm's Head, which can only be reached at low tide. You should keep an eye on the tide to make sure you don't get cut off.

You should report to the Coastwatch Centre prior to crossing over to Worm's Head, if you do get cut off by the incoming tide don't attempt to swim back across.

If visiting this beach make sure you're loaded up with everything you need (including snacks and drinks), because it's a fair old walk back up the steps and along the path back to the car park in Rhossili village.

Rhossili Bay Beach has had many rave reviews in various press publications, so it's worth visiting to see for yourself.. You will not be disappointed.

Rhossili Bay Beach is my favourite beach in the Gower. It is big so plenty of space even on busy days, very clean and is dog friendly all year round. My children love to explore the old shipwreck and the surrounding caves. The views are fantastic. You couldn't ask for more.
