Porth Neigwl (Hell's Mouth) in Gwynedd

This is a long beach made up of mostly pebbles, with sand revealed at low tide. It is a South-westerly facing beach, which means it offers very little shelter from the elements.

On the flip side, this beaches aspect produces consistently good waves, making it particularly popular with surfers.

Swimming is not really recommended here due to the rip currents .
