The unofficial capital of the Llŷn Peninsula

Pwllheli is a bustling seaside town resort located on the Southern side of the Llŷn Peninsula, it's positioned roughly midway between the coastal town of Criccieth and the coastal village of Abersoch.

Pwllheli is the main shopping hub for locals and tourists on the Llŷn Peninsula, as such the town offers an excellent range of shops to browse around, here you'll find almost everything from local fresh produce, gifts and crafts to clothing, footwear and jewellery. Here in Pwllheli, you'll find a wide and varied selection of places to grab something to eat and drink, between the various cafes, bistros, restaurants and takeaways you're bound to find whatever foodie delight you're after. The town also has a nice choice of pubs and bars, there are traditional family-friendly pubs that serve meals and local beers and ales, as well as contemporary bars and clubs for adult only nights out.

Pwllheli is blessed with two beaches, South Beach and Glan-y-mor Beach. South Beach is made of mostly of shingle and travels the length of the promenade. Glan-y-mor Beach is a sheltered sandy beach located near the marina, it stretches for three miles towards Llanbedrog.

Pwllheli is home to Hafan Marina, it's considered to be one of the finest yachting locations on the Western side of Britain. Hafan Pwllheli has over 400 fully serviced berths, and space ashore for a further 200 boats. The Marina is proud to have been awarded the prestigious 'Blue Flag' status, due to the cleanliness of its water and high safety standards.

Pwllheli is fortunate enough to have two golf clubs close at hand, the closest golf club, Clwb Golff Pwllheli (Pwllheli Golf Club) lies on the edge of the town offers one of the finest 18-hole part links, part parkland courses in North Wales. Two miles to the West of Pwllheli towards Abersoch is Llŷn Golf, it not only has the only 9-hole 'pay and play' course on the Llŷn Peninsula but it's also home to FootGolf. FootGolf plays along the same lines as golf, except players have to kick a size 5 football down the holes around the course in as fewer kicks as possible.
